Sensei Bowden with Elisa Au at the 2006 AAU National Championships, Miami, Florida.
Elisa is the 1st American woman to earn a Gold Medal at the World Karate Federation
Championships held in 2002. Elisa is also the only competator to earn two gold medals back to back at the 2004
World Karate Federation Championships. All this in addition to numerous AAU & USANKF Gold Medals.

A few years back, I ordered the complete set (10) of Dr Webster-Doyle's books on Martial Arts for Peace. Two
months later I received a phone call from his secretary who ask me if the Doctor and his wife, Jean, could visit
my dojo. I was so excited for this to happen. They arrived in Perry on a Thursday in their camper-trailer. I
met them at my dojo Friday morning. We visited all day and I was so fortunate to learn so much about helping
young people cope with violience in relationships. That night, he shared with my youth karate class,
an understanding of conflict and developing creative, peaceful ways to relate to others. My students
really enjoyed their adventure.
