=========================== February 23-24, 2008 Results
from the Florida Citrus Cup, Miami, Florida Sensei Bowden and Senpai Sean Padgett attended
the Florida Citrus Cup on February 23-24, 2008. Sensei Bowden was one of the six ring referees. Senpai Padgett competed
in the WKF advanced kumite divisions which featured karateka from USA, Brazil, Peru, Chile, Ukraine and Uruguay,
just to name a few. Unique to this tournament was the participation by three 2006 World Karate Federation Champions.
Two in Kumite and one in Kata. The 2006 WKF Kumite Champion, Rafael Aghayev, from Azerbajian, taught a 2 hour
Kumite Seminar on Sunday, Feb 24, which Senpai Padgett participated. Skills that Sean learned from this training will
be presented to our students. The Florida Citrus Cup has become the Premier Karate Event in the USA.

Sunday, March 30, 2008 Katsu Challenge
Stephen O'Connell Center, University of Florida Gainesville, Florida A Florida Sport Karate League
sponsored event, this tournament brought lots of excitement under the dome at the O'Connell Center, University of Florida.
The Perry Dojo had a small participation group but this group represented our Dojo very well. Members attending were,
Senpai Padgett, Levi Strickland, Garrison Towels and Sensei Bowden. Each of our participants placed in their
events. The level of competition was very high for just over 200 participants. As usual, Sensei Jason Sorgi, tournament
director, ran a very efficient event and we were outta there by 2:00pm.
